Happy Full Moon in Leo Everyone!
A theatrical Full Moon in Leo offers fun time and social
gatherings with friends and associates. This contrasting energy
of the group-oriented Sun in Aquarius and the self-conscious
Moon in Leo will highlight the need to be among others, and with
that comes a desire for personal recognition as well. Flamboyant
Leo loves being the center of attention, unafraid to show
affection and loyalty to whom which they love.
Intriguingly, on the same day with this Full Moon in
Leo, the doorkeeper Saturn (in Libra) at its last
degrees, shifts into its reversal motion just before
the peak of the full moon. Saturn’s retrograde
movement synchronizes with Neptune’s recent move
into Pisces (February 3) and shall temporarily
dissolve some of life’s restrictions,
responsibilities and hard edges of guilt. Saturn’s
concrete reality will not completely go away, but
those worrisome issues should soften during this
period. Speaking of worrisome issues, Libra
represents relationships, all kinds of partnerships,
as well as the justice system. It is possible that
many are contemplating on dissolution of
partnerships- it is only a matter of negotiations of
contract. At the same time many will ask, “Do we
still have a functioning justice system?”
The next day after the full Moon, Venus enters
pioneering Aries to align with unpredictable Uranus
– a very impulsive, action-oriented, excitable duo.
Risky social behavior may just be too delicious to
avoid. This is like having Miss Misbehavin’ being
uncontrollable here. Slow down a bit, folks…

On Sabian Symbols on Astrological Mandala by Dane
Ruhdyar…
19 degrees Leo signifies, “A houseboat party.
Keynote: The enjoyment of temporary freedom from
rigidly structured social behavior.”
19 degrees Aquarius indicates, “A forest fire is
being subdued by the use of water, chemicals and
sheer muscular energy. Keynote: The skill and
courage necessary to bring under control the
destructive potential of carelessness of karmic
visitation.”
My thoughts…
19 degrees Leo + 19 degrees Aquarius creates a
situation where a select few individuals enjoy a
temporary escape from the harsh realities of life,
while the rest of the people have to use everything
they can to save themselves from a possible
misfortune.
Have a Blessed Full Moon!

STAR
HIGHLIGHT ~
MOON
January, 2012
Marcelina
The Moon represents our feminine
side, our mood, instinct, emotion, sensitivity, and she’s also
called the builder of form. In the physical world, the Moon has no
light of its own- it borrows the light from the Sun to illuminate
her radiance. It is not a planet—it is one of the two luminaries,
Sun being the other. Like male and female, they are teamwork. In a
natal chart, astrologers believe that while the location of the Sun
indicates where the individual shines, the Moon sign and its
location suggest what one must do in order to feel happy and
content.
As the fast moving “planet”, the Moon is like a popular actress,
very in-demand, playing twelve different roles (signs) each month.
Her performance requires her to change her costumes about every two
and a half days. During the “costume-changing” period the actress
needs to compose herself, and prepare for the new role, thus a
“void-of-course” of the Moon occurs. It’s time to take a breather,
sort of a mini weekend. A void-of-course may last only for a few
minutes, or other times for a whole day, depending on the ‘mood’ of
the Moon. We do best when we use this time for non-material
concerns. Decision-making during that period usually turns out to be
unrealistic. The Moon is the main timer and activator, and its
relationships to other planets should be taken into account. Like
the Queen in chess, so is the Moon the strongest piece on the board,
invaluable to horary astrology, the astrology of divination.
The Moon rules Cancer, a cardinal water sign, thus it inherits the
quality of the ruler. “Everything she touches, changes” is a song
title that appropriately describes the inherit traits from the Moon.
It rules the breasts, the stomach, and all illnesses and diseases
connected to them, including the bladder.
A well-placed Moon (by sign and house) in the natal chart signifies
a soft, tender, peace-loving individual who loves the comfort and
security of the home. A badly placed Moon in the natal chart (by
house or sign) can indicate an individual who dislikes work, drinks
too much, and/or apathetic. The metal associated to the Moon is
silver; colors are silver or silver gray. It influences the herbs
eucalyptus, moonwort, camphor, as well as pear and peach
trees.

Blessings!

What’s New?
I wish you all a Happy Imbolc, also known as Candlemas, a Festival of
Fire. To the farmers this is called, Groundhog day. I won’t be surprised
to see gophers coming out of their hidey-holes for a check on the winter
weather.
Speaking of winter, we have not had much snow or rain this year yet, but
the temperature in the evenings has been really nippy, in the mid 20’s
degrees. We are only half way to Spring, I think we can expect wet
weather yet to come anytime soon, especially that Neptune has just moved
into its home sign, Pisces, (read Riding the Tides, on my blog) I still
can’t believe we are already in the second month of 2012. Time goes by
when we’re having fun, eh?

Mid-December Snow, Click to Enlarge
We will be finishing our
second year up here in the mountain in April. A dear friend of ours,
Anita, asked John if I still loved living up here. Well, I am getting
used to watching the chipmunks peeking through the glass doors,
squirrels chasing one another, and listening to the woodpeckers
‘door-knocking’ sound from the rooftops now. That’s beside the
passersby, like the coyotes and bobcats. So, I could not see any reason
to make any changes in our lifestyle, not

just yet. But the gophers still drive me crazy with their
persistence in digging underground tunnels to steal my
plants. In terms of growing vegetables for our consumption,
I think it has become an unattainable ambition. I may just
have to settle with growing tomatoes and bell peppers- they
did very well for me last year along with my herbs.
It’s a good thing too that both John and I love critters, or
‘all creatures great and small’ as there are no other people
with the same interests to socialize with up here. I’ve met
a few, but metaphysical gathering seems to go through the
underground channel, quite different than when we were in Dana Point.
Presently, John is busy with his research for his writing material while
I continue my contacts with friends and clients by phone… thank you,
all!
With my astrology studies and writing, my days are pretty well occupied.
I’m grateful!
Schedule Update
I have been updating my schedule of events on my blog- hope you get a
chance to come up on any of them. John’s SMOP meeting is scheduled on
February 11th, Saturday. He has asked me to do a brief
astrological presentation on the current planetary transits for the
group, and I agreed. A little bit of discussion about it will be
interesting, don’t you think? Please contact John at
john@smopblog.com if you want to join us.
Till next month…
Keep sharing the Light!
