Lunar Insight

One thing and only one thing (for now) that astronomers, astrologers, geologists, sailors, poets, weatherpersons, fishermen, doctors, nurses and psychiatrists can seem to agree upon, the Moon and Her amazing influences in nature and on human behavior.

In astrology, as women, we are ruled by the Moon, which represents our emotions and feelings. With it, is the receptivity of others’ emotions as well, the reason why intuition is far more stronger in women than in men. As Wise Women, we have the power to capture Her magnificence and apply it into our daily life. To begin with, we have a new moon, a time for starting new projects, then two weeks after, we have a full moon, a good time to expect fruition then release those that are no longer beneficial to the project.

So, here we go…

Happy Full Moon Everyone!

This Full Moon in Cancer is one of those Super Moons. Besides that it is a Lunar Eclipse, the last of the four lunar eclipses this year. Natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, and tidal waves occur around Lunar Eclipses and its influence may be experienced for months.  This full moon also happens to be a “Blue Moon”, meaning that we have two Full Moons in one calendar month, the second one being the Blue Moon.

Cancer, a water sign, is ruled by the Moon, and when the full moon occurs in Cancer, emotions run high, inclined towards sentimentalism. Many of us may become so sensitive and somewhat needy. Some of us will be afraid to offend others, while others will be totally inconsiderate and selfish. The mood swings will be worth watching.

It is prudent to avoid overeating and to be moderate on alcohol consumption. Some may indulge in illegal substances – not a good start for a New Year’s Resolution.

The important message of this Full Moon in Cancer is to act maturely and responsibly. Our emotional need to be nurtured around this time may become dominant in our psyche. I encourage everyone to surround themselves with supportive and nurturing groups, or to plan activities at home with their loved ones.

Have a Magical and Prosperous New Year, Everyone!

and… Keep Sharing the Light!
