It’s Halloween
By: Julie Belmont
It’s Halloween, the time of the year
Mortals rejoice in fear.
The time when the veil is lifted,
and the dead are near.
People dress as ghosts and ghouls,
running around like ignorant fools.
All religions run amuck,
Not knowing what’s really in stock.
They toy with the idea of playing with the dead,
trying to contact the departed and hearing what was said.
Little do they know they walk among us tonight.
Death might be setting next to you. Does that give you a fright?
Let’s dress up in horrible visions, numb our dreaded intuitions
Are all the people the same, dressed up to play the game?
Or are the vampires you think are dressed up, are they real?
And they can taste the fear you feel?
Not knowing the truth can lead you astray
Making tonight, perhaps your last day
Go out into the night, don’t be afraid
When the Sun comes up the danger will fade…
