A Mother's Gift

You have taught me love on this Earthly plane.
You have kept me safe from a world insane.
You then let me spread my wings so I could fly;
You trusted my judgment without asking why.

You have given me strength deep within my soul
to use as I strive to reach my goal.
You have given me wisdom in ways you don’t even know
to use on this spiritual path in which I grow.

Those as wonderful a soul,
I’ve met only a few.
So thank you Mother,
for just being you.
